I have searched both here and on google to my wits end, I finally had to sign up to ask...

is there any way to disable the annoying sound playback while fast forwarding? It makes the kids think I am watching the Chipmunks movie and they come running :) Thank you in advance!

    Hi, welcome :)

I think your only option is to press the MUTE button.

There is no interface available from MS to mute audio temporary from a running graph. The clock provided for video playback comes from the audio and the graph relies on that. That's why it still plays. Also for higher speeds we use a work around of seek, play a few frames, seek, play a few frames etc.

It's any annoyance I know that will be solved probably by supplying an own audio renderer in the future. But don't hold you breath for it to be released.

I recommend using skip steps instead.

In 1.1Release Candidate 5, I think this is applied...I think, others may correct me if I am wrong.

I ff at 2x and 4x yesterday to test. I dont think I heard audio...but I am partially deaf. 8x crashed my front end (lock up), but that is better than 1.02 official release where even 2x did nothing.

However, I still recommend using Skip Ahead...it is a wonderful option!! I use it extensively over ff/rw

Whoa -- is this a common problem? I have not experienced it, and been using MediaPortal in its various versions for almost 2 years now.

I've never heard sound during fast forward!

Very curious, what is your setup?
