Newbie here. After installing MP I spent a day following the online manual step by step and configuring via the dedicated configuratorer.

In 3.2.8 Television from the manual info. on the Autotune tab (or perhaps there are hidden or missing tabs) I expected to see "Input Source", "Channel list", Add/Edit Channel and Autotune Radio. I am aware that the Autotune tab may not appear if "Unable to create graph" comes up (whatever that means... I will find out later.)
I am concerned that I may have messed up something to account for missing info. on my screen.

Sorry if the above is not accurate, but the LINKS from the online manual headings are going to blank pages at present so I hope you know what I mean.

Whereas I found the 3.2.2 General section very helpful, it seems as if much of the Television section of the manual is a work-in-progress... is that true ?

    Yes, I think it is, and it is probably very out of date.

    If you are getting the dreaded "Unable to create graph", please run MediaPortal Setup again, try to add your tuner card in the Television section, then close MediaPortal Setup and attach the resulting MediaPortal.log file to this thread - we will try to get you going ...

    Thanks for your reply Taipan.

    I did get my card (Leadtek DTV1000T a.k.a. DTV1000 T, a.k.a. DTV 1000 T) added on the first attempt with no "Unable to create graph message", but with a few Autotune attempts the only channel I was getting was Ch7 and only a few of our Ch 7 group added on some attempts.

    I was aware that other people had incomplete tuning problems with this card and they had edited the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file and fixed it.

    I made various attempts at editing the file and it was when I tried to [Add] I sometimes got the dreaded message.
    Whenever the Autotune tab was there I tried an Autotune. Gradually a few more channels got added sometimes and finally I have all channels. (I did a [Save] at that point).

    I think now that the file as downloaded with the latest MediaPortal was really OK with the card drivers I used (the latest) and it is just a cantankerous card.

    However I do have the discrepancies I mentioned between what the online Manual says I should see and what I see on my screen. This bothers me as it suggests perhaps only a partial card [Add] .

    BTW, on the Autotune tab, is it possible to make my location stick? It defaults to Australia Canberra & I use Adelaide.

    You should only have to run the Autotune once to get all the channels - the fact that you have run it multiple times sounds very odd....

    It sounds to me like your TV signal strength from the antenna is marginal - now that you have all the channels saved, can you watch all of those channels without the video freezing, or disappearing completely?

    Thanx Taipan. Actually no. After FINALLY completing the tuning I barely had time left to try looking at TV, and then I WAS plagued by freezing, but I was going to tackle that problem separately.

    I think you are right on the money with the dodgy antenna idea. One reason I tried MP was that I couldn't get Ch9 with the DTV1000T in Nebula's DigiTV and the consensus there was antenna +/or connection. You've confirmed it thanks NOT :D It looks like a climb up on the hot roof for me. :(

    Do you also think the above is connected with the possibly incomplete info. on my screen in Configuration mode. I can be clearer about that now as the links from the manual are working today. An example of what I can't see is the following (from the manual under Add/Edit Capture Cards)

    Capture Card

    "# Frame size

    * 768x576 PAL square pixels
    * 720x576 PAL/SECAM ITU-601 D1 (recommended)
    * 720x480 NTSC ITU-601 D1 (recommended)
    * 704x576 PAL/SECAM TV broadcast
    * 704x480 NTSC TV broadcast
    * 640x480 NTSC square pixels
    * 352x288 PAL CIF
    * 352x240 NTSC CIF
    * 320x240 NTSC CIF square pixels

    # Frame rate

    * 29.97 fps (NTSC)
    * 25 fps (PAL/SECAM)
    * 15 fps "

    Thanks Taipan and ParaDe.
    I've been up on & in the roof and re-aimed the antenna minimally (tilted up ~5 degrees and around ~5 degrees) and done a tune via the main MP settings TV wizard. This time I tuned not only all the original channels in one go, but also the versions of all of them again from a nearby repeater which is at 90degrees to the antenna. I'd say our antenna is not very directional nor discriminates well between horiz. and vert. polarization.

    Re the freezing, that has not changed but I realise now that it has only happened when I try to re-size the screen by dragging the corner or edges while TV is on.
