I wanted to try the new DiSEqC motor support. I did not find any instructions how to set it up, so this is what I did:

1. I have Skystar2 and for moving my dish I use SS2DiSEqC.exe. So with this I pointed the dish to Hispasat 30w.
2. In Scanning, LNB setup dialog of the TV server console I checked LNB#1, keep DiSEqC at none, and change the satellite to Hispasat.
3. I scan for channels.
4. Then I go to DiSEqC motor tab, check DiSEqC motor enabled.
5. Select the Hispasat satellite. The signal quality indicator is active.
6. I store the position as 1.

Now I am not sure, what to do next. So I tried this:

7. Move my dish to a new satellite with SS2DiSEqC.exe. For example Intelsat 907 27.5W.
8. Change the satellite from Hispasat (set in point 5) to Intelsat 907. Signal quality indicator is active.
9. I store the position as 2.

10. I test if the TV server moves the dish: change Intelsat to Hispasat and click Goto. I get message: Satellite moving to position:1, but nothing happens. The dish does not move.

What am I doing wrong?

I have Skystar2 with 4.4.0 drivers (MiBi modified). SS2DiSEqC.exe is moving my dish without any problems. So are AltDVB and DVBDream.

Thanks

Tomas

    try this:

    1. enable diseqc motor support
    2. next move to satellite #1 and store the position
    3. next move to satellite #2 and store the position
    4. scan your channels on satellite #1
    5. scan your channels on satellite #2

So.. first setup the diseqc motor support and store the sat positions
    then.. scan for channels

    Hi Frodo

I tried, but no success. I can scan the satellite #2 (step 5), but the dish does not move to satellite #1 while scanning it (step 4).

It works here with the twinhan card.
I dont have an ss2, perhaps there's a bug left in the ss2 code.
    Will check the sources...

Ok, i've added motor support for the ss2 card.
You'll need the next public svn build
please let me know if it works

I installed the newest TV Server (tvengine3-01-01-2007--01-12h--Rev12451.zip) but I see no change. The dish still does not move.

I've got a SS2+SG2100 motor; never been able to get TVServer to move my dish :-( I havn't tried it for a few SVNs though. I did have it moving with the Mibi driver and SS2DiSEqC.exe. however I've moved to the technisat beta BDA driver now which seems to be better in general (e.g. faster channel changes) so I know it won't work with SS2DiSEqC.exe anymore but is DiSEqC impliemtned in the BDA drive I doubt it. Also I don't know how the dish moving code in TVServer works. Would it require a modified driver too? So many questions!! ;-) Anyways I was thinking about maybe writing a plugin to make use of SS2DiSEqC.exe this probably wouldn't be too hard. Of course then I'd have to go back to the non BDA driver I think :-( So it's a bit of a catch 22. I wonder if it might be possible to use the serail port or parallel port to move the dish with a sepearte cable up to the motor??

I tried it again. Still not moving. With SS2Diseqc 1.10 it does move, no problem.
    I'm using SS2 driver: 4.4.1 Beta Version (06.03.2007)
When I press "Move east" or "Move west" nothing happens.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, as Frodo said he added SS2 support.
