    Hi

Soon my brand new 7" Samsung U70 USB monitor will arrive.

My plan is to clone my 42" plasma on to this, to avoid using ~ 250W of power when listening to music. This would also allow us to watch photos on the display when not using it for navigation.

One thing I would like, is to display a clock on top of MediaPortal. Always. But only on the secondary display.

Can I do this with a plugin? I guess so, but how do I handle the dual-display-thing? Remember, the clock should only be on secondary display ;)

    Any feedback appreciated.

I want one too :D (having the same problem)
Why not using a plugin that only sends the music section to the secondary monitor. Perhaps its even possible to make a custom layout for that smaller screen?

if its not possible with mediaportal you could just create a plugin that takes the information (now playing, etc.) and sends it to an external application that runs on the second screen.

Yeah...but I want to be able to navigate also, which involves a bit more development than I have time for in one week ;)

There are already some plugins to show song, buttons etc. on a touchscreen, but I want the whole deal :p

If you clone one display to the other, what you want is not possible. That is what clone means: they are identical.
If you use them as separate displays, MediaPortal will only show in one of them - you need to have some other application to display anything on the other. Whether you can build an app that allows you to navigate MP and uses one display while MP uses the other is a matter of how complex you need it to be.
