For reference the current implementation is using the following USB HID Library:

That display now also has basic supports through Sharp Display Manager
Symbols are not supported yet so consider that beta really.

You may want to wait until MP v1.12. Unless you are feeling curious obviously Once installed Sharp Display Manager is really easy to upgrade so you can easily keep up to date with my latest development.

I also have version of Open Hardware Monitor that works with Sharp Display Manager and thus with your display but I did not bother publishing the binaries yet.

Now there is even better support for MDM166A displays through SharpDisplayManager.
