Good morning, everybody,

I have just discovered mediaportal and I find it interesting but there are two or three questions that I was wondering about and to which I have not found an answer if the community would like to enlighten me:

• Is it software or is it a box?
• for its use on TV, is it necessary to have a smart tv for mediaportal to work?

I'm doubly interested in the question. On a personal basis first of all and also because I've created my shopping guide site and I think it could be interesting to talk about this kind of product as well.

It is necessary to connect the HTPC (computer) to the TV and install the Media Portal on it.

It's not an old TV either, but it's not a smart one.
