Do you need to be online with a modem to get caller id? (1 Viewer)

Also, what is the best caller id program to use? YAC,etc.

I currently have an external USRobotics fax modem upgraded to V.92. Is this usable in MP? I am in the U.S.

If not, what are some cheap modems I can use?

You need a modem with caller id capability. I picked up a cheap Comp-USA branded one for about $15 and it works fine. You also need YAC installed either on your MP machine, or do what I did and install YAC on some other machine that is always on (like a file server) and setup your MP machine as a listener. Obviously the modem gets installed wherever the main YAC program is installed.
