Does AM3 CPU work on a AM2+ motherboard? (1 Viewer)

I've got a Gigabyte MA-78GM-S2H (AM2+ Mainboard) and I'd like to upgrade my dualcore processor to a quadcore.
I'd prefer a 45W processor: AMD Athlon II X4 600e, 4x 2.20GHz (AM3 CPU)

Is it possible to apply this AM3 processor to my AM2+ motherboard?
