Does MediaPortal support MyTheatre (1 Viewer)

Can I start MyTheatre using this software and does the EPG work as well?

I have not tested this... even tho I do use My theatre for all my recordings. I would assume you would be able to use my programs to start up My theatre and then use something like girder to control your EPG commands. I might take some time and test this out... I will let you know if anything comes of it.

EDIT: I just used my programs to run My Theatre within MP.. Seems to work pretty good, but I am doing this all by remote so its a little slow for now. The big thing is setting up your my theatre command within girder. I am using a usbuirt and that seems the only way to be able to control it with the remote. Maybe there is a plugin I should look for. But I start up MY theatre in full screen and on... It comes up and displays just fine. I then use myepg (old but still good) and hit the guide. I can then move around and select channels from there. I then set up an exit key and it jumps right back to MP. I don't know why I have not tested this out before. I usually don't watch a lot of live tv... thats probaby why.

Thats great! I'll be testing this software (MediaPortal) once I get home.

I have a Microsoft MCE 2005 wireless keyboard that I am using with my HTPC where the IR transmitter connects to a USB port.

So I guess the recording schedule will also be done via MyTheatre?

yea... you are just running MY theatre over the top of MP (I think mp always on top needs to be turned off) Once MT is running think of MP as your backdrop... it does nothing. Everything you do with my theatre will be within my theatre. I have suggeseted to saar (creator of MT) that he should write an offical plugin that really intergrates with MP and offer MP/MT as a kick ass HTPC solution... but nothing ever came of it.

But did you open MyTheatre via the MyTV button in MP? I tried setting it but in the setup menu my DVB-S does not show...I don't even know if I am doing the right thing

No afaik you cant reprogram the buttons so you have to use a MyPrograms entry.

So can I create a custom button to open an exe file? IN this case the MyTheatre exe file...

I read something about that someone writing a plugin to do that, have a look in the Plugins section of the forum.

What should work "better" with MyTheatre MCE 2005 or MediaPortal since both don't seem to be supporting it to the fullest.
