XP system is in I:

I built a new system with a media card reader and did not notice it was taking drive letters c: - g: and and that XP was being installed in I:

I know, pretty stupid.

You can reassign your drive letters, Control Panel, select Administrative Tools, select Computer Management, then in the drop down tree select Disk Management. You can reassign your drives from there.

Thanks for your response but....,

I did not try that because I thought that the system drive could not be changed. I tried it and am correct.

So, again, can MP be installed in a drive letter other than c: ? If it is just another app in windows, then why not? Mayber something to do with built - in file associations to c: that cannot be changed?

ps I also tried removing the media drive and rebooting to see if the bios or windows would re-assign the drive.... negative.
