Does new release of MP play flac ? (1 Viewer)

hi all,

I am new to MP and i was wondering about flac files. i know that by using flac i can rip my CDs at the highest quality, and to do that i'm using Exact Audio Copy. i am looking into downloading the latest version of MP and i am curious as to whether i can play these files through MP or if i will need another program. also, if MP can recognize and play these files, can i also use MP to import cover art and song lists?
Any help is appreciated.

Yes. flac is supported. I've used it myself.

Well I've just added a new folder with .flac files and MP1.2 wont play them.
So does something else need to be installed .Flac is listed as a known extention but they still wont play?

So, what happens? You can see the songs in My Music, but when selected they don't play and there's no error?

Please post your logs when trying to play a flac file.

If you can play flac files, outside of MediaPortal, then you should be able to play inside of MediaPortal. It works both ways on my PC's.

This is only true if you are using the directshow player. By default (BASS player) supports FLAC (and works well ). If you are having issues then post logs

Hi,

Never had any issues to play flac. Did never install any additional software and have about 2000 titles coded in flac....
