Do any of these DVDs play with Windows Media Player 10? That is the engine that is used.

Yes! If I double click on the .vob, .ifo files they all play fine on the desktop. If I run them full screen they all play fine via the various players.

But via Mp its black or:

I would go back into the setup program (configuration.exe under the directory C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal) then select the DVD Codec and select a different codec:

The Graphics are built into the m/board and I have the latest drivers. As stated All DVD's and files play in MP10 MPClassic Nero Vision but only some play in MP?

I thought all DVD's where MPEG2 period er'go they should all play or not.

On the ones that don't play I get a black screen the first time I press play, I hit stop on the remote then play again and I get the screen above. The sound works fine, first time.

I agree with Callifo, suggest that you borrow a DX9 card, ie fx5200 and see if it makes a difference.
Generally onboard graphics do not cope that well and take system memory.

It's really worth a try, and do not forget to disable the onboard graphics in the bios.

    Good Luck

With a powerful 400MHz core and DirectX* 9 3D hardware acceleration, Intel® GMA 950 graphics provides performance on par with mainstream graphics card solutions that would typically cost significantly more.
High Definition Content Decode - up to two stream support.
Up to 10.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth with DDR2 667 system memory.
Up to 224 MB maximum video memory.
High Definition Hardware Motion Compensation to support high definition hi-bitrate MPEG2 media playback.

Like I said should be more than capable
