Hello,

Is it possible to save in an other format than DVR-MS?
Because this doesn't won't to play in mplayer. No demuxer in mplayer can handle the way media portal make's his DVR-MS.
Can't I just record in MPEG format? I don't need extra meta data, just audio and video.
(I have a Hauppage PVR 150-MCE Hardware encoding)

Anyone?

Thanks,

No, its the format used by the MS stream buffer engine (also used in MCE2005). Its needed for Timeshifting. You can use the burner plugin (or another program) to convert it to an mpeg2 file.

Will there ever be a possibility to record not in dvr-ms?
The files get pretty large and converting them should take a lot of time, shouldn't it?
Can't you simply write the mpeg-stream which comes from my tv-card directly into a file?

btw. It doesn't take much time... because they are no recoding just remove the meta data. So it only take the time of parsing through the file.

But doesn't it compress the files?
    I recorded a 2 h movie here and it took 6.7 GB.
Which means I can't even burn it on a Single-Layer-DVD.

Your pvr150 is harcoding in MPEG2 anyway.

The only way to reduce the size without an after recording compress process is to change the quality setting of your card.

A other efficient way is just to change the recording sound setting of you card. (I use 44kHz - 192kbps)

    I don't have a PVR 150, I have a Leadtek PVR 2000, which is hardcoding mpeg2 as well.
Is the sound setting a setting in MP or where?

sound settings for PVR150 are in driver setup

In MP setup Television/ Capture Cards /edit property of your TV card

In device property you have a setup button for elements of your card driver
