Synopsis::

When playing a DVD with a DTS sound track, the video does a micro pause every 5 or so seconds. If I switch to the DD soundtrack the movie plays fine.

Playing the same DVD using PowerDVD, there is no video stutter while using the DTS sound track.

It is worth noting that the DTS audio plays fine, there is no audible stutter in the sound. I have my sound card connected by my external receiver via a SPDIF connector.

Has anyone come accross this problem before.

Also I believe that the Nvidia purevideo drivers came with my graphics card. When looking in MediaPortal setup I can only see PureVideo listed under the Decoder Filers branch. I can go in and configure it, but it does not appear in the drop down list of Video Codecs under either the DVD or Movies section.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Philster

If Nvidia purevideo is not in the drop down menu then it is not installed on your system. plus i dont think that it comes with Video cards

with your DTS problem... cant realy help. all i can say is try to get Nvidia purevideo because i found that using this as my audio decoder has fixed a lot of my little problems to do with sampling via SPDIF.

I have the same problem like philster. I tried several Codecs (Intervideo, FFDShow, MPV/MPA), but nothing solved this problem. Has anyone an idea what to do?

I have the same problem. I'm using the latest RC build of MediaPortal and I'm running it on a Abit Fatal1ty with RealTek HD Driver for audio. Installed codecs: ffdshow-tryout and AC3Filter. Everything seems configured ok. The signal is sent through SPDIF without changes and my receiver indicates that it is a DTS signal. Movies with Dolby Digital 5.1 are running just fine, but when playing DTS material I get the micro pauses.
