I Think I must have missed some vital step :confused:. I get "No video capture card(s) were found" in configuration utility (Television / Capture Cards) when I attempt to add a Video Capture card and I get "No TV cards detected" in the main MediaPortal configuration wizard.

Having read the DTV2000H theads I have tried :-

1. CaptureCardDefinition.xml - removed "(Philips FMD1216ME)" to make consistent with entry in Registry
2. CaptureCardDefinition.xml - change devid from "...sybsys_665e107d" to "6f2b107d" same as Registry
3. Got the latest Leadtek drivers 4.0.112.3223
4. Tried reducing CaptureCardDefinition.xml to just the entry for the Digital half of the DTV2000 H
5. Wiped the hard disk and clean installed just XP, WinFast drivers and Media Portal.

Not worried about the Analog part of the card working just want the Digital to be recognized.

The card works with WinFast PVR2 (not PVR), ChrisTV and GBPVR. Please help - have run out of ideas

Additional Info (forgot to add to above)

I think MediaPortal is seeing the card at some level - the following two lines are at the bottom of configuration.log.

2008-01-11 18:26:37.734375 [Info.][Config Main]: device:WinFast DTV2000 H WDM Video Capture. id:mad:device:pnp:\\?\pci#ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_6f2b107d&rev_05#4&172a2bdd&0&08f0#{65e8773d-8f56-11d0-a3b9-00a0c9223196}\global

Thanks (in advance) for any help :D

welcome Lackingaclue, great nick :D

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/dtv2000h_unable_create_graph-t22949.html

I take it this is one thread you have read.

Not sure what is going on with this TVcard, seems to be a lot of derivatives of it (wondering if made by different manufacturers and badged up as leadtek)

Might be worth going straight to TVE3, finds BDA cards automatically, or going down the graphedit route found here

Video Card: ATI Radeon 7000 - 64MB this will struggle to run MP, please try and use the SimpleMP skin, not one of the graphically intensive ones.

Sorry not to give you a total answer, but this card does seem to come in many versions according to our users.

Thanks Ray (Paranoid Delusion)

You were right the solution was already posted on the forum - I just had to put it together in the right order. So here is the solution :

Used regedit.exe to verify the device_id matched the one named in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml (never having used graphedit.exe - regedit.exe was easier).

1. Run regedit.exe
2. Seach for "DTV2000 H BDA Transport"
3. There should be a key "dev_id" to match "dev_id" in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml
4. Edit CaptureCardDefinitions.xml using notepad.exe
5. find the entry for "DTV2000"
6. Alter the "dev_id" in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml to match the registry
7. I changed "subsys_665e107b" to "subsys_6f2b107b"
8. I also deleted " (Philips FMD1216ME)" from the "tunerdevice" entry (forum advice)

After doing these edits the MediaPortal Config utility detected the Digital Tuner card no problem - I can now watch digital channels on "My TV" in MediaPortal. However I will upgrade video card and processor just for ease of use (picture and sound great just a little slow to react).
:oops:
Admission time I made a rookie mistake. I copied a new CaptureCardDefinitions.xml from the forum without checking it. There were "?" characters randomly spread through the text making the file unusable even if you edit it correctly.

Setup 101, always have a known start point to return to, should have returned to the original CaptureCardDefinitions.xml when the one form the forum did not work.

Woah.. it worked! after a lot of reading.. following your instructions exactly it finally worked!
Thanks HEaps!

i made the mistake of deleting "&rev_05" from mine coz that wasn't in regedit.. and that stuffed it up!

I followed your instructions with high hopes, but it didn't work for me...

I have the same drivers installed (4.0.112.3223) and am currently downloading the latest version of the PVR2 software (though I don't expect that will help with MediaPortal).

Below is the entry out of my CaptureCardDefinitions.xml after following your instructions:

Code:
<capturecard commercialname="Leadtek WinFast DTV2000 H (Digital)" capturename="WinFast DTV2000 H BDA Transport Stream Capture" devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d&rev_05">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"></capabilities>
<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"></interface>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider" checkdevice="false"></filter>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="WinFast DTV2000 H BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod" checkdevice="true"></filter>
<filter cat="capture" name="WinFast DTV2000 H BDA Transport Stream Capture" checkdevice="true"></filter>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice" sinkpin="0"></connection>
<connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"></connection>
</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

The information in Regedit, the dev_id that you refer to - was actually called MatchingDeviceId and had a value of pci\ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d.

I removed the pci\ prefix and added the rev_05 suffix that sekshiong referred to. The result was the code above, that unfortunately still does not allow me to add the capture card to MediaPortal.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Zarin,
your "ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d&rev_05"

should really look something more like:
devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d&rev_05"

or as my suggestion was:
devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d"

I dont have my config file on me (at work) so can't paste my whole config in.. but dont forget the "&" for the first few instead of just &

Thanks sekshiong. That was the problem.

My final string looks like: ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_6f2b107d&rev_05

Thanks everyone for the help.
