Hi,

I was searching the forum for solutions to watch dual audio avi's and subtitles - all non-english users will need this sooner or later

After vobsub installation the subtitles work, but both audio channels play simultaneously. In the forum I've found, that Haali media splitter fixes this. But after installation audio was ok, but vobsub stopped working and no subtitles were displayed in latest 0.2 beta version of MP. So you have to choose, if you want or watch dual audio avi's or subtitles

It's interesting, that in 0.1.2.0 it works.

Hi hi

This problem come from, haail media splitter switch only audio streams and subtitle streams in MKV files, one way only convert your video file into mkv file.

http://www.pcwelt.de/downloads/tools_utilities/treiber-tools/123035/

I use vobsub with ffdshow subtitle filter to show normal srt subtitles, in ffdshow can you set button to enable /disable subtitle.

------
Use CCCP codec pack to install ffdshow and vobsub, install haail splitter mark avi support, and after indtall from Start menü in Windows mark in ffdshow Video configuration the subtitle filter.

http://cccp-project.net/

solution:
with MKV files can you switch stream with A, L

normal avi with single srt can you enable, disable with ffdshow

hasta la vista

There is some option in Haali splitter to call vobsub, but does not work, or, as you say, maybe only for mkv files.

But that's not an option for me, have lots of dual avi's, don't really want to convert them all.

but why it worked in 0.1.2 and now it does not?

I have like you many dual channel avi with single srt, but I cant no another way display the subtitles. Few weeks ago I become the same stream change trouble., but you will see MP have many another bug.

One of the many feature request is the real internal videoplayer with stream change functionality...

don't forget to let Haali Media splitter handle AVI containers (not set by default). That should fix it.

will check it, but I think, that I've swiched that option.

I have 2 dirs in \Program files one with MP 0.1.2 and one with 0.2 rc 4. I'm only renaming it and running to see the difference, so the windows setup is absolutely the same. And in 0.1.2 really subtitles work and dual avis play fine

Hi,

I've found a few interesting things. If some MP programmer reads this, please advice, where could be the problem.

Once again - without Haali MS all subtitles work.

Config: MP 0.2 RC4, installed VobSub and Haali Media Splitter

Yesterday I found, that some subtitles play! I was trying to figure out where is the problem with the others and finally find the cause.

It is caused by XviD FOURCC CODE. I wasn't testing DivX avi's.

Solution was, to open XviD avi file in Nic's FourCC changer (distributed in XviD packages) and change EXACTLY THIS WAY:
FourCC Description Code:XviD
FourCC Used Codec:XVID
You have to excatly keep the letter case.
And that was the problem. XviD's with XVID-XVID or other letter case combinations do not show subtitles. How to fix that? Is the problem in Haali splitter or where?

EDIT:
I've found it. The error is in DivX 5.2.0 decoder. Ater installation of original XviD codec the subtitles play fine.
