Dual tv cards (1 Viewer)

1. TV Card:

Hello, I have only started using media portal this week as i have windows media center edition which fortunatly kept letting me down. I've been using an xbmc a year or so and i have always know about media portal from the xbox side.

Anyway, I have been trying to set up my second HTPC in the living room (was wmce) with dual tuners, one hauppauge 1300 hvr, and one pinnacle 310i, now they both worked together under wmce but will only work seperatly in MP.

Do both the cards need to be the same make and model? Is there a specific setup for dual tuners?

Both cards appear in the tv cards section of the config utillity and both scan channels.

if one card is turned off the other works fine however when they are operated together I am unable to change channel and it constantly tells me that it is recording!!

I have a compro t-300 card in my bedroom pc would this work better with one of the others??

Its a very confusing situation, and any help will be greatly accepted.

have you assigned all the channels to each of the cards? and made both cards able to watch and record ?

I did wonder that. When i scan the two cards i get two lots of channels. the only problem is a can't sent one card to record one channel and then change station!!

do i need to merge all the same channels together?

Both cards have both boxes ticked for record and watch!!

when using more than one Tuner card, you should set one to a higher priority than the other in the TV card configuration section.
In the TV channels section, there is a tab above the list of channels labelled "TV Cards" or something. Click on that and make sure that each card has all the channels assigned to it.

I use multi tuners in two MP machines, one has identical tuners (compro t-300s) and one has a mixture of Dvicos and both work well.
