Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct section to be asking this question:

I have setup a dualboot pc with Vista SP1 and XP SP3 on 2 different partitions. I've installed MP on both systems as I want to determine the performance difference with different Video codecs / render settings etc.

Is there a simple way to have the 2 installations yet use the same (common) SQLExpress database. So, my recordings etc appear the same in both systems?

Regards

That's the address for the Vista MSSQL db, so you would need to delete any db in xp and import the Vista db,
SQL management express is good for doing this.

ps just resetting up a SP3 XP install myself with Vista Ultimate, so may have a go myself with a central db, not sure how the TV cards will behave with this idea though, as previously had seperate db's.

I started with XP and have now loaded Vista so all my recordings were done in XP. Therefore Is it practical to Import the XP database into Vista?

Is there a SQL management express tool in vista?

    Cheers
