Duplicated "What's Going On" On Forum Home Page (1 Viewer)

There seems to have been some recent change that results in the "What's Going On" section on the right hand side of the forum "Home" page being duplicated. Is this intentional?

Also, I noticed when I made a post yesterday that my entry in "What's Going On" showed the first two letters of my screen name, instead of my usual avatar. Is that intentional?

the additional plugin that creates those lists is a bit broken after it got some fixes for php7...waiting for a bugfix for the update right now

Something still seems to be a bit odd .

(1) The first screen grab is after I have clicked "What's New" and selected the English-only fora:



(2) The second screen grab is what I see on "Forum Home" a minute or so after displaying "What's New":



Why are the entries in "What's Going On" so old? Where are the entries for what I see on "What's New"?

whats new is selecting all posts while the widget just scan for new threads (changed it now to recent threads, there is no widget based on posts ootb)

That is how it was before the recent updates. I think "recent threads" is more useful than "new threads".
