    Hi,

I live in Brazil and the cable companies are starting to switch from analog to digital.

The cable company in my city (and in other major cities) is using DVB-C and encrypting with Nagravision.

I'am planning to buy a DVB-C card, but have no experience whatsoever in terms of quality of such cards.

What would be a good card, supported by MP and that would allow to whatch encrypted channels and (in the future) multiple streams with this single card?

    Thanks in advance.

PS: WOuld be good to know also a shop that could send it to Brazil. ;)

Hi, I'm trying to order a TwinHam Cab-CI and I think this card can be shipped to Brazil.

I understand I'll need a CAM in order to put my Cable company SmartCard, but I need help deciding wicth one. I've saw a lot of different one (Alphacrypt, Dragon, etc) but have no idea what are the difference or wicth is better to MP.

I also read in some newsgroups about having to macth the STB serial number with the smartcard, and that some CAMs can do that bu need some special programing hardware. Is this true? Can't it be done trough software or something like that?

    Thanks in advance,
    Julio

Hi Julio - I can see this is quite an old post, but can you tell me what you decided to do in the end please?

I am soon to be doing the same thing in Sao Paulo, and have not yet decided on the cable TV provider either. Any suggestions you have would be great.

I am going back to the UK in December, so can bring the card(s) back with me then if necessary. I am looking at the FloppyDTV range of cards that have the CAM built in.

    digital everywhere - FloppyDTV

    Many thanks
