Hi, newbie here. After years of using XBMC for video playback and a Tivo series 1 for TV, I'm now building a HTPC to replace it primarily because the Xbox can't really handle H.264 playback. At the moment the system is as follows:

Antec Fusion V2 Case
ATI 3400 graphics card
Abit AN-M2HD motherboard
2GB RAM
Technisat Skystar 2 DVB card

It's all up and running, the Technisat card I just had lying around.

I want to change the DVB card to one that supports DVB-S2 and has a CI slot. My choices are the FloppyDTV and the Technotrend S2-3200. They are both a similar price so I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences of which is the best to work with MP and TVE?

With the Technisat it doesn't seem to change channel very quickly, especially when swapping Transponders. The replacement card will need to drive a Diseqc switch feeding in 28.2, 19 and 13 sateliites.

Any help would be appreciated

Geraint

Most of the Developers with satellite use FloppyDTV, whom they also have a good repore with regarding any driver problem they have encountered, with the manufacturer Digital Everywhere.

But do not let that influence you. :)

Thanks for the reply. The FloppyDTV is firewire I see, does it have a good fast channel change?
