Since my FloppyDTV S2 died due to lightning damage ( :( ), I need to get a new DVB-S2 card for MediaPortal. Used FloppyDTVs or FireDTVs seem to be hard to get, so I wonder what other hardware is working flawlessly with MediaPortal? Since I need a CI Slot, my only options seem to be TechnoTrend S2-3200 HDTV-S2 CI and TerraTec Cinergy S2 CI. I would get the TechnoTrend S2-3200, since I vaguely remember some members using it without a problem in MediaPortal.

    Hi,

same for me, I am interested in the experience card DVB-S/S2

FYI, I have a card TerraTec Cinergy S2 + CI, CI, which works great but with old drivers (1.1.0.601! )The new drivers are problem to change channels!

I also have a hauppauge HVR3000 works very well, but I do not know the behavior of an CI (which decodes the channels at one time apparently).

I am interested in a USB Teratec S7, I wanted to know the users experience.

the wiki for TV card is good, but not enough info for problem users ...

Thank you for the reply ..

I cant remember if it is still manufactured. I guess cos they just released new beta driver for MCE.

I have the TerraTec Cinergy S2 CI and works without problems. I also have a floppydtv but the cinergy is also a little bit faster in channel changing.

Actually I do not use the CI module so I do not know if this works well, anyway. But the tuner part is really good.

    Hi,

I bought a TerraTec S7 (CI included), and it works very well with 1.1 RC6.

All is not tested, but it's my first user experience with this card.... difficult to test without comparing/reference....

    Regards.

I bought the TechnoTrend TechnoTrend S2-3200 HDTV-S2 CI now. Works without major problems so far. Though I have one little problem on at least one client: when viewing an HD channel (ORF1HD, 720p50) after some time, I get a glitch (one frame garbles and video pauses for a second or so) and after that glitch I get only ~26 FPS instead of the 50 FPS. Skipping back 15 seconds fixes the problem. This sounds more like a client side problem, but it didn't happen with the FloppyDTV before.

I have noticed the same thing with the newer drivers. I'm however using version 1.01.01.501 drivers and they are working quite well. Do you mean the older drivers would work even better? There is always room for improvements.. ;)
