Dear All,

I have trouble to view the hdtv channels on Astra 19.2 with my TechnoTrend 3200 DVB-S2 card (running on Vista x86 SP2). I am using the current stable version 1.0.2 of Media Portal and the latest TT drivers.

If I tune via Preview to DVB-S channels from TV-Server Configuration, then everything works fine - I have a picture and sound, but, if I try to tune a DVB-S2 channel, I get a preview window, which is blank (white / windows theme colour) and sound, but no picture.

With other applications (like TechnoTrend's own MediaCenter) I can watch the DVB-S2 channels, so I am confused, what am I doing wrong? Is this a codec issue? I would appreciate any help!

Kind regards,
Denis

It sounds to me that you have a codec issue, try installing SAF from this forum and then try again, it should work great!

still not working

Hello and thanks for the reply!

I've just installed the SAF pack (including all dependencies), but it is still not working. I'll try to install Windoze XP and see whether it works there. It's strange, though I tried all available H.264 codecs and none of them worked with Media Portal.

Btw., my graphics card is ATI HD4870, but I do not think, that this might be the problem.

Best regards,
Denis

Have you tried with CoreAVC (preferably 1.9.5)?

I have same problem on my setup (tho CoreAVC works with some small bugs cannot change channel), I'm running an outdated CoreAVC codec, so as soon as i get home ill try with 1.9.5 myself.

I think maybe you should reinstall mediaportal and check if you are not trying to preview some odd channel maybe.. coded?
It wouldn't hurt to reinstall drivers for the sat tv card too, I know from experience they can do a lot good and a lot bad things (my htpc couldn't boot with technotrend drivers, twice, after reinstalling again from fresh download, everything was ok, go figure)
