Is there any work going on to get the dvb-s2 part of hauppauges dvb-s2 cards to support the tvserver?

    Actually Yes
    In fact.. all coding is already done and in SVN
    Problem.. it doesnt work :-(
    Why? no idea yet. I'm sure we've done everything correctly
    so i've send an email to our contacts at hauppauge.
    Hopefully they will tell us how to get it working..

    Hi

    with the latest SVN (23.07.2007) TV-Server found Premiere HD, Dicovery HD (both DVB-S2) and Astra HD Promo (DVB-S) with the Hauppauge Nova HD S2. With older SVN's my card does'nt find any DVB-S2 channels.

    Is there any DVB-S2 relatet new code in the latest build? Why does'nt my card recognize channels like Prosieben HD and Sat1 HD?

    Regards,

    My HVR4000 has never found anything dvb-s2 (thor 0,8w), and the analog part isn't working either. According to the frontpage there is supposed to be full support for HVR4000 now, but currently there is a "bug" in the driver so it doesn't work !!?

    But I still don't know if the analog part is supposed to work or only the dvb-s/s2/t

    First.
    To scan DVB-S2 transponders your .ini file should be correct.
    For DVB-S2 the following information needs to be in the .ini file
    - frequency
    - polarity
    - symbol rate
    - modulation type
    - inner fec
    - pilot
    - rollof

    Here's an example for Astra 19.2:
    Code:
    2=12522,V,22000,8psk,2/3,on,0.35
    Frequency = 12522 GHz
    Polarity = Vertical
    Modulation = 8psk
    InnerFec = 2/3
    Pilot=on
    Rolloff = 0.35

    We've supplied these values for the Astra 19.2 HD channels
    but i'm sure its not supplied for thor 0,8w
    You should manually edit the file and fill in the extra DVB-S2 information for the DVB-S2 transponders.

    Second, about the HVR4000
    There is a bug in the current driver version.
    Hauppauge is aware of it and we expect a new driver soon.
    In the mean time, Hauppauge gave us a workaround.
    The workaround is implemented in TV3 and scanning DVB-S2 transponders should work, provided that the .ini file is correct.

    Frodo,

    Build 15327 is unable to scan for channels with HVR4000, turning the "enable dvb-s2 tuning features" on or off has no effect.

    the 0.8W Thor 2_3.ini is formated like this:
    20=11403,v,24500,78,DVB-S
    21=11421,H,25000,23,S2

    where 20 is a normal dvb-s transponder and 21 is a dvb-s2 transponder.

    Also can you comment on the analog part of the HVR4000 ? Is it supposed to work, or will it in the future ?

    Like i said, this is wrong. the ini file should contain the values for fec,modulation,pilot and roll of
    DVB-S or S2 is no use

    Hello Frodo,

    i use the lastet svn. But on Astra-HD TVE3 only found Premiere-HD and Astra-HD. Which driver for the nova-hd-s2 should I use? Did it work on WindowsXP, Vista or both?

    Thanks!

    I can find everything but this info on lyngsat, I tried the same, didn't work. Any ideas on where to locate this info.

    Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

    Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...
