Did you ever think about to show, buy request (keystroke) an on screen signal scale?

On portables, where signal flows, it's handy

The problem comes in when the DRIVERS that are supplied by the card manufacturer actually give misinformation regarding signal strenght\quality.

This has been reported many a time that someone is getting a good signal and been unable to find any channels (as shown when tuning).

A good example of this is the Hauppauge TD-500 which has the ability with 2 aerial inputs for its dual tuners to switch to diversity mode which combines signal from both inputs and sends the signal to just one tuner, increasing its sensitivity, allowing it to receive a signal where it would not have been able to before, the owner insisted it was not a aerial problem until he tried diversity mode and found it worked ok, where previously he could not tune any channels despite the signal strenght showing to be fine.

Software signal detectors are not the best, cannot beat a good old signal meter for setting up aerial\sat.

One day may get incorporated into TVE3 if the Devs decide to implement it, but for DVB reception it varies on different transponders anyway.

But do not rely on it.

    Regards

there used to be a section in MyTV when using the tv server for all the stream data, but it was removed a while ago. I guess this is the reason?

It gave signal strength and a whole lot of other info.

I'd like to see this as a feature, but as Paranoid says it seems to be variable as to what the tuners report back. I have 3 tuners using tve3 and 1 shows full signal and the other 2 show it variable but are all being fed by the same aerial and all get perfect reception.

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

In the UK, the EPG transmitted in the DVB-T datastream allows each programme to have two genres -- a primary genre, and a secondary genre (i.e. a subgenre). The primary genre might be something like Film (or Movie in the USA). The secondary genre for Film might be something like: Action, Comedy, Crime, Fantasy, Romance, Science...

Many thanks for the answer. So far I've used Logitech's Harmony hub. This allows you to control all components (including the media portal). I have now contacted the Sofabaton hotline. It should also work here like with the Harmony. Unfortunately, not all of the IR codes are correct. You can also learn commands here. But that doesn't...
