When doing an EPG update the other day, it took about two hours. I don't have a STB to compare but I've been advised it should only take about 10- 15 minutes.
I made these logs on my other PC the other day https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/..._07_12__09_32-first-idle-epg-grab-zip.107858/
What seems to have happened is that it grabs the EPG on one channel, which appears to provide the data for all channels and then it updates the database, but then starts quite unnecessarily grabbing again on the next channel and so on until two hours later it finally stopped. This was on my "Spare HTPC" system which currently only has one tuner.
I've just tested on my Main system (with two tuners) with only a selection of channels set with "Store data only for selected channels" and this seems to have worked properly and stopped grabbing after 6 minutes on one channel, which seems to have been enough to get the data for all the selected channels (see attached logs).
I found I have to tick the channels I want to grab, whether "Store data only" is ticked or not, as otherwise it wasn't grabbing anything. As far as I know this bug hasn't been fixed yet https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/epg-grabber-not-grabbing-as-expected.106821/
