To verify that this patch has been applied successfully, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Tools > DirectX Diagnostic Tool and select the DirectX Files tab. Look for the 2 files (psisdecd.dll & mpeg2data.ax) and check that they are now both at version 6.5.2710.2732.

I have XP with Media Centre 2005
I have just done a complete reinstall and all the windows updates including Service Pack 3
I understand I need to run DVBfix which I have done and it said it registered all the files. Now according to the above those files should now be both at version 6.5.2710.2732. Well they are not, they are saying they are only 6.05.......

I tried to rund the fix again but when I do it is asking for a password???

What should I do? As I think my Media Portal install is now unstable as the Digital card is sometimes not detecting a signal and sometimes it is. ???

the issues DVB fix addresses are already addressed in XP MCE 2005 rollup 2. Its not necessary to install dvbfix in a copy of MCE 2005 what has already been updated by windowsupdate. Assuming you ran windowsupdate prior to the install (Requirement for MP) and you are running MCE 2005 the fix is not required.

Forgive the first post to an old topic, yet this info should be relevant.

actually, if you have installed windowsxpmediacenter2005-kb925766-enu through Windows Update
(source of psisdecd.dll & psisrndr.ax - version 6.5.2715.3011), DVBfix likely will roll back to previous versions
    included in DVBfix (unconfirmed).
