DVD Import / Ripper (1 Viewer)

Hey All,

I am new, I just found mediaportal today and its great!!!, my only question is in the about page it says you can store dvd's, but after looking here their is alot about different plugins and what not. how can I set it up so that their is an option to import dvds (rip them) onto the hard drive, I saw a plugin called insert dvd mentioned but I have been unable to find it or even know if it does what I want, please help!!!

There's a "DVD Ripper" plugin that does this, but from the last couple of posts, I am not certain that it works. Haven't tried it yet, myself. This plugin requires DVD Decrypter to be installed to work.

Personally, I use Shrink DVD and manually do all my rips. I do this so I can remove all the menus and special features, and keep only the movie. I then manually add them to the movie database so I have full control over titles, genres, cover art, etc.

My solution to the "defective" plugin mentioned, is to use the inbuild plugin called "My Programs". You can add a "Application Launcher" in that. The application to launch should be someting like DVD-decrypter (google it). It accepts arguments. So you can set it to automatically rip a DVD when started.
