    Hi!
    What works:
    Everything when using WMR9.

    What desen't work:
DVD playback dont work with EVR. Everything else works as it should.
When using EVR the DVD menu freezes when trying to navigate. This is the same for physikal disc or ripped image on HDD.
This is 100% reproducable. No DVD with EVR enabled. Tried with different codecs/navigators, sush as:

    Nvidia purevideo
    PDVD version 7, 8, 9
    MS Navigator/codecs
    WinDVD Diferent versions.
    MPC HC
Elecard MPEG2 codecs, and so on. Tried to turn of DxVA. Even reinstalled windows with just MP, and DT Lite to be sure
nothing else are responsible for this. Logs attached :D

PS. The problen is itruduced in MP 1.1 Beta mediaportal-svn-02-06-2010--13-59-Rev24975. Before that DVD+EVR is working

    Hi!
I found a solotion for the EVR problem. I simply replaced the dshowhelper.dll with the one from svn 01-08. Now it's all working :)

Same problem, same solution. As a sidenote HD tv channel change seemed slower with this "fix" - but i've only had limited time testing that and it may just be my imagination.

    Hi

I do not think this thread should be marked as fixed yet.
If there is a problem, the solution provided here (thanx for that) is a workaround.
Maybe better to request dev/tester to give guidance?

I'd welcome that, cause I noticed some simpler dvds ran fine given the right settings but would freeze at the end of the movie after some time in the dvd menu. So I went back to test it again manually, only this time i exited right after the main movie ends (which had to be through context menu) and that did let me back to mediaportal. As such I figured the first crash i had seen was just one of those "rare" crashes. So I originally thought these other dvds were bad rips or codec/navigator issues. Was really pulling my hair over this. So thanks to christix =)

Usability: On another note, i'd like for ESC or back, to work as it does normally in mediaportal inside the DVD menu too. It didn't to this when I had the problem and i had to use the context menu (quickly), it remains to see if it still does now that i've fixed the menu as the Box is now busy playing DVDs! =)

    im +1 with this.
edit 1: Question: Does your refreshratecontroller work with this? Mine seems to not change refreshrates anymore (with the old dshowx...)
Edit2: Sorry, it seems this only happens with "video ts/audio ts"-DVDs. Non ripped dvds and HD material switch just fine to 24, 50 and 60 hz.

Yes it's a workaround. I would be very happy if dev's put it in mantis to be properly solved.:)

    Hi!
Could you help to put this bug to the dev's attension? I'm not shure they are aware of it:confused:

Cannot reproduce it here. I see you tried a lot of different navigators and video filters. Did you also try to change the audio filters? Do you have ReClock running? Also please check with GraphStudio what filters are actually used.

I've had the same problem after upgrading from MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-01-08-2010 - Revision:24669 to RC1.

I've made several new installation of Win7 and MP RC1 last week. I've tried every codec on the marked and clean installation without any plugins/skins. But the problem was still there. I have ended up with using WMR9. That was the only way to watch DVD on MP RC1.

I will try the old dshowhelper.dll when my family is finished watching TV tonight.
