DVD sound does not work properly (1 Viewer)

Hi,

When I play a dvd with menu sound it does not seem to play properly. It is very gittery. The sound stops and starts as though there are gaps in it. I've attached logs and there are a few errors in it. Maybe this is linked?

I can play xvid with ac3 audio ok. The dvd menu which is ac3 audio will not play correctly. When I play the movie or video clip from the dvd menu the audio is ok. I have tried using VMR and EVR and trying different codec settings in the DVD section of MP config. When I use graph edit to play the menu vob file it uses Dscaler Mpeg 2 video and ac3 filter audio codecs and plays the sound ok. However if I set MP to use those codecs for DVDs it crashes so I cannot use that combination of codecs in MP. Its very strange.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The only combination of codecs i know work fully is PDVD7 in MP1.0 and PDVD8 in latest svn.

In hoborg's post, and a few others I have seen, there seems to be some issue with the AC3 filter, cannot give more info as all my sound is handled by FFDShow, as I had garbled sound from the above filter with some files.
