Hi just added the new Dvico Dual Digital 4 Tuner to my system. This version no longer uses usb cables internal or external. It just plugs in thats the end of it. Has anyone as yet used this card as MP does not pick it up for me. Im not sure if it is supported as yet and if so do I have to go to the new TV server engine or just get a newer build of MP? My version is late 2006

You should always try the latest builds... if it has a BDA driver, it should be found in the new TV engine. Give the latest builds a try and see what you can come up with.

Just to let you know... if you use month old version... you will be amazed to see what is in the newer builds... a lot of hard work has gone into MP as of late.... and it really shows.

This card does not have BDA drivers in my device manager like my old Dvico card.
Each of the capture cards come up only as FusionHDTV, AVStream Capture(DVBT-Dual) there is no BDA receiver/tuner no crossbars etc. just one entry for each card.

I have a Dual 4 which I recently upgraded to from a Nebula DigiTV.

Whilst the card works in MediaPortal it is a lot slower to first turn on the TV and then change channels than the Nebula card was.

I didn't have to change any xml definitions and am wondering whether I should in order to get better performance from it?

I tried the TV server briefly with this card, and again, the Nebula worked fine but I had no luck at all with the Dvico card. Not wanting to spend any more time on making things work I left it at that.

Just on the side, the Dvico card works slightly better with the default drivers Vista comes with than it did with the latest Dvico drivers under XP so I'm a bit weary now to update the card drivers whilst everything sort-of works.

When you install the Dual Digital you should have the option to also include MCE drivers. I guess these are the BDA drivers. The card should show up in device manager with a *lot* of devices, since it is really a PCI USB card with two USB tuners built onto it.

I also found with my DUal Digital 2 card (haven't been able to work out any differences there) that if I use the software that came with the card then I can work it with MP but if I download the latest drivers from the net then MP can't see it.

I really hate the Dvico set up. It's so messy and you have to download the entire 60Mb app and install it just to see if a new driver will fix any issues.
Why cant the drivers be separate from their app?
