I have 2 video files i can't read in MP. I can read their in VLC so i can obtain some information about the video. It seems that the video codec is DX50 so for me it's divx5 but i can't read it with divx6 codec. Someone could explain me why and how to solve this ?

Thanks

Thanks I have already ffdshow and divx codec installed but nothing to do with this. The file extension is .avi and it plays fine with vlc.

    Hi,

    vlc uses own codecs instead of MP / WMP which use DirectShow filters.

    Look into Start->Programs->ffdshow->Video Decoder Configuration->Codecs
    Check if DivX 3 and DivX 5 / 6 are enabled (libavcodec).

    Flip.
