I have directv and therefore my channels skip around a lot. For example, channels 100-200 are PPV, which I don't watch or have selected to be visible. Also, my locals are channels 14, 27, 36, 56, etc, with no channels in between them. My problem is that when selecting, for example, channel 14 it takes me to the 14th channel in the lineup. I noticed that I could edit the database with the channels in it with the SQLite database and change their ids to the actual channel number. What I wasn't sure of was if this was safe or if it would break the entire database. I haven't actually done it and saved the database to test it out as setting that monster up was initially the hardest thing to do. I don't care a bit to go through and input each correct channel number by hand if it will work. I have searched the forum and found this problem posted before but never to any resolution.

I apologize. I accidentaly posted this in the wrong forum. Could a moderator please move it to the general support forum? Again, sorry for the mistake.

There's a setting in the configuration program, under television, that lets you select channels not by number in the line-up, but by channel number. It says something like 'change channels by index (non-US-style)'. It sounds like you want to check that out.

I had seen that suggestion in another thread and tried it. Nothing was noticeably different with that box checked than without it. I know I've read somewhere that the "select by index" option only applies to internally tuned channels, not externally as mine are. I think I might backup my database and give editing it a shot tonight after work. Hopefully it will work, but I would greatly appreciate it if a developer or someone in the know could shed a little light on whether this is safe or not.
