https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ir-server-suite-irss-165/obsolete-mce-replacement-driver-29024/

Hi Deepnight73,

I'm in the process of configuring my remote on a vista machine.

First thing I did was completely disable MCE (set 4 services to manual, add one registry key, rename all folders with e-home.
My remote is RF and not IR, but still...
Then I started using my remote. It does basic things without any installation. (The usb dongle registers as HID device)
To enable other buttons, I've found details on how to use eventghost together with media-portal.
All of my remote buttons except 4 are recognised by EventGhost.

Do you realy need XP SP3. I've discovered everything should work fine with SP2 in most cases. (My server runs XP SP2, my client Vista32home premium because there was an error in the combination between MP and XP SP2 video drivers)
