EPG from imported XMLTV does not work (1 Viewer)

Ronilse wanted me to start a thread here, so I do:

I use XMLTV to import an xml file created by webepg, which works perfect in tv 0.2 but in tvserver I get the timeslots but no text. Alle the programs are just blanks, but they are there (like the start and finish, and I can also select to record them). Recording the programs is also a pickle, cuz there is no file name .. :/

Might be a Norwegian character problem? æøå is probably in a lot of the program names ...

This problem has been here for a while ..

Hi,
Do you use grab epg from dvb-s too or is it disabled?

When you use the refresh EPG in TV Setup -> Manual, do you get epg then after webepg has run?

Yeah, when I get something from the EPG grabber this seems to be working fine. I use both

Problem with the EPG grabber alone is that I only get 1-2 hours of EPG. Canal Digital seems to be holding off the -> future.

But yeah, seems the epg grabber works fine, but the xml importer not so much.

Hmmm,
Yeah you get 1->2 shows on the channel with dvb-s epg, don't think they holding stuff back because my stb can get epg for at-least a day. I use it the same way as you but as a test i only grab for NRK & TV2 Norge & it seems like i don't have the blank fields so far, but it needs to run for another day to check.

I will try to set up webepg all new again just to test too.. might be a nother problem aswell .. who knows.

Ok, for me it's now been fixed.

I just deleted the tvguide.xml file in my xmltv folder, ran the webepg-conf.exe and saved a new config (read somewhere that there was an update just a few days ago) and then ran a new webepg.exe. This time I saw that the new programs a few days ahead was working fine, just the current programs was not updated. So, what I did was I deleted the tvprograms from the database, opened the tvguide.xml in notepad and saved it (to update the timestamp). The tvserver imported the xml file all over and now everything works perfect.

If anyone needs to know I deleted the tvguide with the following command (fouund in the forums here somewhere .. ):

"sqlcmd -S localhost\SQLEXPRESS -U sa -P xxxx -Q "DELETE FROM TVLIBRARY.DBO.PROGRAM"

For me this issue has been fixed, and I think it has been caused by the update of webepg, but I dunno ..
