Hi

I've had a long look around for the solution to my problem, so I'm posting in this thread in the hope that someone might be able to help.

Had a very late night yesterday and finally figured out how to get the TV server working, and I can now view TV. However, I get no EPG data. I've tried looking in the TV Server configuration under pluggins for WEBEPG, but it's not there. I've looked to see if I can find it online, but it's a part of the Mediaportal install isn't it?

If anyone can help me figure out why I've got no EPG I'd be very happy.

I've got a Haupaugge DVB 500 card, running 10.0.2 on Vista ultimate.

Thanks

Rich

WebEPG plugin for TV Server is part of MP 1.1.0 Beta1. It cannot be used with a prior version.

Ok. WebEPG does appear in my mediaportal config, just not in my TV server config, but know matter if I can't use it.

What is the best way to get EPG info. A third party pluggin? 4 The Record? XML grabber? If someone could point me to a guide I would be extremely greatfull. The mediaportal tells me to use WebEPG, so it's not much use.

    Many thanks

Which version of Mediaportal / TVServer are you running?
With 1.0.2 getting WebEPG to work is somewhat convoluted because in 1.0.2 it was not yet ported to TVServer.

Ok, so I finally found a good guide here...

    mediaportal - Setting up WebEPG

which seems to have got me so far. Now my TV server config can't find dvbt.xml (it's not in the TuningParametres folder where it should be). So because of this, or maybe as well as, I've got no channels listed in MP guide, and no EPG either.

Can someone send me their dvbt.xml?

    Thanks

You can also find the original WebEPG documentation here:Mediaportal WebEPG
I took a look at the guide you posted and it mentions replacing webepg-config.exe. This does not apply to v1.0.2. Also it seems that the guide suggests to enable both webepg and TV epg grabber for DVB channels. This is incorrect and will always lead to conflicts, you should get your EPG from one source for each channel.

In your first post you say that you have managed to setup TV Server and watch channels, which means you have scanned and found channels in TV Server's SetupTv and those channels are tunable in Mediaportal but in your last post you say that TV Server config complains that it cannot find dvbt.xml and as a result you cannot scan for channels. Which is it?

Either you are doing something wrong or you have messed up your installation. From your posts I cannot figure out what you have done.

I've been trying to get this going for so long I may have forgotten some stages, but this is what I have done recently to try and solve the problem.

I had no channels and no epg. I managed to set-up the TV server so I could see channels, but still no epg. On that same night I tweaked a load of things in services.msc, loaded tight vnc, and did some other stuff to try and make vista a bit quicker. That lead to my standby button on the remote not working and my lcd display going a bit odd. So I did a system restore to correct these errors, also undoing my good work on TV Server.

Last night I still had the channels listed in TV Server config, but no channels and no epg in MP. I found the guide linked above after you mentioned that 10.0.2.0 webepg didn't really work. The guide suggests replacing webepg.exe and webepg.dll, using webepgconfig.exe to map channels and the new webepg.exe creates the xml file, which you point to in xmltv in the config. Still with me?

I also set up 4the record last night, and now I have TV and EPG. Hooray. However, when I start TV Server config it says it can't find dvbt.xml. Everything works at the moment but I don't know how long for.

It's a bit of a mess to be honest. And I've found the mediaportal guides to be a bit hopeless. Or maybe it's me.

Any suggestions or help warmly received. Or if someone would like to come over to my house and fix it I'll cook you dinner. Thanks.
