Hi Guys,

I love the MP software, thanks! But just when I thought I had finally got my MP setup working perfectly the EPG has screwed up..

I have a dual dvb-t tuner card and I use WebEPG to grab the channel data. All this was working fantastic for a few days until one day last week I was watching TV and I changed the channel, and now the EPG has gone blank except for 1 channel (Channel ABC).

I have tried deleting the tuner cards from MP Setup and re-adding them and this hasnt made any difference and I also tried deleting my tvguide.xml and regenerating it by running webepg.exe this also has no affect. Only ABC shows up in the EPG.

The data for all channels is all there when i open up tvguide.xml.

The next thing I tried was to delete Channel ABC from the WebEPG Config tool. I then re-ran WebEPG.exe to generate a new tvguide.xml and restarted MP, went to the EPG and guess what, there is only an entry for channel ABC...

It seems to me that WebEPG is working OK but MP is not reading in the tvguide.xml file in properly.

Please help me get my perfect MP setup back :)

Thanks,

BFJ

MP config\TV\Program Guide and press button marked "remove all TV programs from guide"

Re-run WebEPG and see if that cure's the problem.

    Damn it!

After 4 days trying to figure it out and then finally posting on here, I just found out what the problem was.

Somehow I had changed the "Grabber:" dropdown box from "TVguide.xml File" to one of the other options.

Changed it back and now everything is back. :)

Just one comment though. It seems to get WebEPG working you have to change options across 4 or 5 different screens / tools. There must be a better way of organising all this stuff so you can do it all from 1 screen. With everything being so spread out its easy to miss one of the vital settings like I did.

Thanks for replying anyway PD :)

    Hi there,

I have a similar problem except I grab my EPG from the DVB stream. A few days ago, MP randomly and spontaneously decided to ignore all channels except one ("THE HITS"). I was happily watching TV and MP spontaneously forgot the existence of all channels except The Hits. I can only see "The Hits" in the Programme Guide.

Whilst I cannot watch anything except The Hits live, MP correctly records my scheduled programmes from other channels.

I have tried re-tuning both my tuners and I've also tried pressing the "remove all TV programs from guide" button.

I'm running MP 0.2.3 RC1 on WinXP32 SP2 (I tried RC2 but it seemed less stable than RC1 on my setup so I reverted back to RC1).

    Many thanks,
    Jack

First thing i would try is renaming mediaportal.xml to mediaportalold.xml and reconfiguring, sound like this is corrupted.

Hopefully TVDatabase is fine, but then renaming that would be my next choice.

    Hi there,

    Thanks loads for the reply.

I tried renaming mediaportal.xml but that didn't help so I renamed TVDatabase and that made MP forget all my channels and all my recorded TV. So I set TVDatabase back to its original name and I upgraded to MP 0.2.3 RC3 and then selected the "Remove all programs from TV guide" button and that fixed it! Thanks to everyone for their help!
