Can I use an xmltv file that I created with mc2xml, in MediaPortal?

You can. You will have to make a batch file first so it will rename the file output file as tvguide.xml
To do this you will need to make a text file, save it and rename it .bat
Here is an example .bat file:

cd "C:\Program Files\Media Portal Stuff\mc2xml"
mc2xml -o tvguide.xml

Obviously you will need to change the directory where your mc2xml is but that about it. the "-o" tells mc2xml.exe to output at the different file name. You can do this manually when you need to or set up widows task scheduler to do this everyday or 2 days or weekly etc. Hope this helps.
