Synopsis:

Hi there, I just bought a EPIA VIA M-10000 LVDS board with 512 RAM and a 30 gb 7200 rpm Maxtor. I installed XP lite, but MediaPortal requires more components. No problem... I installed XP Pro, lighted it down a little bit and installed Media Portal. It runs ok, music plays good, tetris plays good, no problems so far. BUT, it is not possible to playback video. When I select a movie-file inside MediaPortal it freezes for a second and then nothing. Keystrokes are still recognized after a slight second. It doesn't play anythin: no MPEG, no AVI, no Divx, no XVID, you name it! If I use VLC, as an external player, it runs so smooth, no playback problems; so the PC can handle it without question. I installed Media Portal on my P4 3.0 HT: no problems, on an AMD AthlonXP 2600+: no problems. Why isn't the video playback inside MediaPortal (internal player) working? EVEN if another video program DOES work? I have Divx Codec and Xvid Codec installed (inside a all-in-one code package I got from the net).

Any knowledge or experiences are welcome, I love MediaPortal and I want to use it in my car (therefor the EPIA board).

The onboard video is not suitable for mediaportal, it cannot run the vmr9 renderer properly, and unless you get another video card Im pretty sure your out of luck. Use the search function and find plenty of hits.
