************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hi,

I have just got the same problem. My installation is 2 weeks old, and suddenly I can not open the MP Config. Apparently there must be some error in one of my .xml files, but as I have made no changes lately I do not know where to look.

Exactly which files did you delete?

Did you loose all your settings by doing this? I really do not want to reconfigure everything again.

hi

yes.. all config was lost.. but the way i see it .. better to reconfig and have something that works than to have something flaky.

I am runnng on Vista, and if you are running XP i guess the files are placed different.
but i looked for a folder, containing se settings folders, and backup folders.
here i just renamed all folders so they startet with BAK_............

after this .. all settings was lost, but everything worked again..

The problem is that this is the second time I get this problem. When I updated from RC3 two weeks ago: after spending several hours configurating MP1.0 I got this error just when I was done. I then did a complete reinstall of MP once again and configured it sucessfully this time. Now after two weeks I suddenly get this error again. The only thing I have been changing in the config since the last reinstall is in the powerscheduler plugin (problem with my HTPC not going to S3).

I´m also on vista, can you please specify which folders has the settings and backup folders in them?

/Martin

I also had the exact same problem.

In MediaPortal.log, I see the following error:
Code:
2009-02-26 07:44:42.559000 [Info.][BassAudio]: BASS: Initialize thread failed.  Reason: Fehler im XML-Dokument (0,0).
So it has to do with the Bass player, it seems...

So I searched for the file that doesn't look like nice XML, turned out it was the musicdsp.xml in
C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal

It was empty, same problem I had a while ago with MediaPortal.exe.config.
The config files seem to be quite fragile sometimes...

    I installed Vista and MP 1.0 last week. Now I have already once had corrupted mediaportal.exe.config, and once corrupted musicdsp.xml! During the previous 1,5 years with XP I never experienced this issue, so this has to be related somehow to Vista and MP. Both times the config files got corrupted without a system crash. This is extremely annoying!

    I know this is an old thread but I have had mp 1.1.0 rc2 crash twice with similar errors. Usually when playing around with S3 sleep (never wants to work properly).

    I found that the musicdsp.xml file was empty (the time the file was modified was when mediaportal stopped working). I renamed the file and everything was back working again. YAY :D

    Hope this helps someone else having this problem.

    cheers,
    Xmamx
