I would not be inclined to use this though as, it contains older versions of the some important plugins, though will not overwrite these the skin files included will not work correctly with the latest plugin versions, TVSeries and MovingPictures are most likley to lose some functionalty.
Depending on time I will see if I can extract the older versions of the TV skins files for you.
Maybe the server is/was too busy when you tried to authenticate.
I occasionally run into that too, also with the opensubtitles api I regularly get 429's... there isn't much that can be done about it, except making sure the software isn't hammering the service and having patience...

I always have DVB subtitles enabled in "MP Config", but I actually switch on subtitles only for those films that have deafening sound effects and music, combined with inaudible dialogue. Every so often, when I switch to a TV channel, my MP client stops accepting user inputs, either from the remote or keyboard/mouse...
