You can try this version

I would not be inclined to use this though as, it contains older versions of the some important plugins, though will not overwrite these the skin files included will not work correctly with the latest plugin versions, TVSeries and MovingPictures are most likley to lose some functionalty.
Depending on time I will see if I can extract the older versions of the TV skins files for you.

Every so often, when I switch to a TV channel, my MP client stops accepting user inputs, either from the remote or keyboard/mouse...
I think therein lies my problem. I am on 1.6.2.0. So thanks both for your help, I will pause this thread for now and come back to it while I work out what to do next.
