I recently switched over to EVR after having used VMR9, I noticed a nice improvement in scenes that had lots of red, so I thought I'd stick with it. Unfortunately I've noticed that playback is not as smooth as VMR9, with micro stuttering occurring even on simple Xvids.

I use FFDShow + Reclock, it's a combination that has given me smooth results with VMR9, alas it doesn't seem to work with EVR and MP. Funnily enough EVR (Custom Presenter) in MPC-HC is perfectly smooth. It's just MP that is having issues.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution?

So no more suggestions?

I've switched back to VMR9, and every now and then I check the stats, it reports a constant ZERO jitter, where as with EVR it was usually hovering around -3, and spiking whenever the micro-stutter occurs.

The annoying thing with having to use VMR9 is that for whatever reason it breaks text alignment and a whole heap of other things with StreamedMP after having watching a file. So I'd rather stick to EVR.

EDIT: So I decided to install one of the latest snapshot thingies, and I *think* it might have fixed it. I need to watch more to be certain...

I played some Xvids and 720P MKV's, with and without Reclock set to control Vsync for VMR9/EVR and DXVA.
