Expand TVSeries to a sister plugin? My Films? (1 Viewer)

I know there are a few movie/dvd plugins out there, but TVSeries seems to be one of the best with the online look up of data. So I was wondering how difficult it would be to expand it to include movies or to create a sister plugin for movies. Call it My Films or My Movies, or who knows. I'm sure there's some catchy name that can be used.

A sister plugin would easily give it a separate menu entry point and would also make it easy to setup different title/string filters.

I noticed that thetvdb.com has a sister site (sort of) called Movie-XML located here: http://www.gaz1.com/movdb/ It doesn't look to have had the same attention to detail as thetvdb.com but, perhaps that can be helped as more people use it.

Just wondering. What does everyone think on this idea?

I am not sure about the My Films, but it definatly should get incorporated as a data source into My Videos.
If my videos could get extended with the TV Servies functionality (logos, media info, background scanning and data retrieval) - that would be my dream.

I back this idea completely.

Configuration of the my-films plugin (no disrespect to the developers intended) leaves a lot to be desired.

The other feature that is unique to mytvseries that would translate perfectly to a films database is the logo rules and inspection of the file properties instead of relying on a static ANT/DVDProfiler database.

The key to making this project work is a good online source powering it.

Don't they have a wast majorites of the english titles (alot to be desierd for swedish)

there is already database setup to power it, and uses the same backend as TV series. It's located here.

Also on the Meedio end they are working on a plugin to take all the data we have in existing meedio libraries and upload it back to the new database. I'm sure if someone wanted to write something similar here they would allow MP users to do the same. The developement thread for the Movie Db is http://www.meedios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=876
