Wrong thread really for that question, but the answer is - use the version that works best in your system..... The standard MP 1.2.2 dshowhelper is basically a 'no_DWM' version - the 'DWM' versions enable 'queued DWM' mode in the Aero desktop. This can produce smoother playback with less dropped frames on some systems, but improvements seem to be video card/video driver/system dependant (some people find it makes the performance worse....)
