I'm still having this wierd problem whenever I watch Channel 4 News, which is plagued by pops and clicks. I've never noticed it on any other programme, even on Ch4. The next programme's started now and I haven't heard anything unusual since that begun. I even tried reducing the volume in ffdshow's mixer from 1 to 0.5 in case it was clipping but that didn't help so I don't think it's that. I notice the TsWriter log shows some continuity errors at 20:49, 20:54 and 20:55 (after I started recording) but these don't account for the pops and clicks throughout the programme both before and after starting the recording.
