Synopsis: Configuration program crashes when trying to setup External Display Plugin
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I receive an error from Windows that the configuration program has experienced and 'exception' and that I can close or continue. continuing allows me to return to the configuration program but not edit the settings for the display plugin.

The iMON VFD display and remote both work when using the manufacturer's software but I have been unable to test it with Media Portal since I am unable to set it up.

Any suggestions that can be offered would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Turn off the plugin.
Reboot the computer and do not load MediaPortal!
Enable the plugin.
Set it to the proper iMon config.

I think part of MediaPortal was still resident in memory and was causing my crash. YMMV

No luck--I still get the same result. :-( Thanks for trying though. :)

Did you upgrade the iMON software on your computer recently ? I used a quite old iMON software version (the version that came with my LC-16M case) and I experienced the same crash as you did. However, the problem disappeared after I uninstalled the old iMON software and installed version 4.50.1227 instead (afterwards I upgraded to 4.51.0202 which should be the latest version at the moment).

You can download 4.50.1227 here:

and the upgrade to 4.51.0202 is here:

Still no go...

Hi again,

I just did a complete reinstall on the system... The latest drivers/software for everything and still I am unable to access the configuration screen for the External Display plugin. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Thanks again.

The latest CVS did the trick!

Thanks for the replies, I installed the latest CVs (mediaportal-cvs-03-15-2006--01-06.rar) and it seems to have done the trick--the display seems to be working properly. Now I just have to figure out what's changed. ;-)

Thanks again.
