Is there an option within moving pictures for it to use external player for playing movies.

NB - I am not talking about setting up external player in mediaportal settings, i would like to continue using internal player for other apps (eg. my tv series, my videos, etc..). I just want only moving pictures plugin to use external player.

    Hi there,

I'm using TMT3 as external player to view BluRays/HDDVDs out of Moving pictures.
I've ripped my files to HDD using anydvd(no ISO, just the folder structure).
Blu rays are played fine when selecting them.
When i chose a HDDVD folder , TMT3 starts(as it is supposed to) but fails with an error message:unsupported file format.
When selecting this folder from TMT3 directly, TMT3 plays the HDDVD fine.
Does any body have a hint for me what the reason could be(wrong folder structure, or whatever)?

I'm quite sure that this was already working with MP1.02, but i didn't try it for at least 4 months as i was messing around with codecs, upscaling , DVB-S2, etc. When this was done I was thinking: YESSS,now I am at 100% (Mission HTPC accomplished), but TMT3 failed to play HDDVDs, so my project dropped back to 99.5%

Any hints or suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    HD

    try the following

    go to moving pictures configuration
    movie manager
    file details
see what is there in the file.

for blu-ray it points to index.bdmv file

not sure what is for HDDVD.

Pass the same file to TMT3 and see if it works.

alternately try what i am going

    "

In the moving pictures configuration type in the name of the bat file as external player.

    set dd=%1
    "C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 3\uDigital Theatre" "%dd:~1,-17%"

    "

Here i am stripping /BDW/INDEX.BDMV from the filename and passing the folder structure to the TMT3.

It works for me. See if you can do the same for HDDVD as well.

Thanks for your reply. I'm on a business trip and can't test it right now. I will check it on the Weekend and let you know.

    EDIT:

I was able to check it out yesterday. For HDDVD it points to Discid.dat. When passing this file to TMT3 it doesn't work. I don't know if PDVD9 can handle this. I'll try to test your solution this week if my wife gives me some extra time on the HTPC ;-)

    regards, HD
