    Hello,

I've been using MediaPortal for a long time, and recently i've got a Mac Mini 2.5Ghz.
I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on Bootcamp to use MediaPortal. Plex was just not my thing.

My Photo's and Movies/Series are located on my QNap Nas.

    Everything runs smooth.

When i browse the movies it is extremely slow.
When i start a movie ( even a 700MB divx) it takes about 2 minutes to start.
The network is connected by cable @ 1000Mbps, and XBMC works good.
But i want to use mediaportal...

    What can be wrong??

    bump bump...

What can be wrong with my config? It takes more than a minute for a movie to start.

When a movie is playing it just works fine.

You would need full logs for this, so I suggest you run MP debug mode (START menu), recreate problem and post logs using option 1.

    Hello Ray,

I've recreated the problem in Debug mode.
I browsed to the pictures folder, and it took a couple of minutes to load the list of pictures.

    - Here is what i've also found out
My Pictures and movie folder are network shares to my NAS.
The network shares for the pictures is P: (and is created by NET USE P: \\192.168.0.3\pictures )

    When i create a share with a substitution it is a lot faster ( subst P: \\192.168.0.3\pictures )
In Debug mode i don't see any speed difference, but in 'normal mode' and with the StreamedMP skin the Subst connections are faster.

Nope, networking is not my speciality, but people who have that knowledge need logs to see what is wrong, sarcasm is not good for a first post.

    Hi.
After a quick look at first log it seems you have meshed up the installation. You are using MP Version 1.1.3, but there are some "ERROR: unknown control:<coverflow>" Coverflow is available in 1.2++ only. Maybe you're finally find a way to cheat at the compatibility check ;)
But I can't see any long delays there. MP needs about one minute to create missing Thumbs but this should happen only once.
