Hi there,

Yesterday I installed for the first time Mediaportal on a new pc with fresh XP install and it was running flawlessly....only basic install + XP-Codec-Pack-2.4.8 installed and a few minor bits and pieces. They are the Mediaportal Iplayer Plugin (MP-iPlayer Alpha Build 0007), and the offending youtube-fm-for-mediaportal ( youtube-fm-for-mediaportal - Google Code ).

The youtube plugin is a .mpi file so I installed it accordingly, and it allowed me to access configuration options etc.

On trying to launch the plugin in mediaportal however it refused to load and I had to ctrl F4 out back to the desktop.

Since then I went back to the mediaportal configuration link...but I have a problem. Everytime I click on the "Plugins" tab I get an error message and the configuration tool then closes, so I am unable to get into the plugin section to make any changes at all now :(

I can't seem to find a way to let it give me access to this page again, and can't seem to see a way to uninstall it without accessing that page in first place.

Oddly however, the youtube plugin itself is working fine now and video plays in MediaPortal.

The error message is
Code:
Failed to locate assembly "YouTubePlugin, Version=0.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null".
Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end

could anyone please help me with this?

cheers,
Tuck

I have a similar problem, except it's Failed to locate assembly 'SearchPlugin, Version=1.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null'. when i try to access "Plugins" in MediaPortal configuration. I believe the YouTube plugin is the cause of this as well though (since the only place I found the phrase "SearchPlugin" mentioned was in "YouTubePlugin.dll".

Does anyone know which configuration file MediaPortal is reading from so I can delete the reference to SearchPlugin manually?

I got the same error message. Can anyone confirm which plugin is causing this error?

You should use the latest version of the plugin, the error caused by a older version of Youtube.Fm
