Hi Cul8er,

I am experiencing some weird looking things.

When I leave the pc alone, cycling through the fanart (which looks awesome!), I see strange stuff happening after EXACTLY 5 minutes. The fanart animations on screen starts to judder with like 1 or 2 fps. If I dont touch the pc, it stays like that for ever.
If I touch the remote and move around in the menu or something, the 25/50 fps instantly returns with smooth animations.

I have tried the powercontrole settings of Windows 7. I have set everyting at maximum performance, no sleep timers on hdd,gpu etc. No luck

I have no idea what could be causing this.

I have always seen this, but untill last week, I thought it was caused by my poluted setup. Now after a fresh and stable OS install, it is still there.

Q1: Is anyone else seeing this?
Q2: How do I produce a usefull log or information for you?
Q3: What things can I try else to prevent this?
Q4: Is this even Fanart related?

My system specs are:
MP: ver1.1.2
OS: Win7 x64 proffesional
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 245e (2.8Ghz)
GPU: AMD HD5670 (MSI CYCLONE 1G)
MEM: 4GB Kingston
HD: 30GB SSD

Probably MediaPortal's Screensaver mode, check in configuration->General->Screensaver. By default Idle timer is set to exactly 5mins.

    Thanks Itfearme!

I will check this when I get home. I havent changed any settings regarding to the screensaver. Is this by default on (5min)? What does this mean, becuase I dont see a screensaver turn on ever. :)

    Hi there,

MePo has two forms of "screensaver":

    1) Blank the screen
    2) Reduce the "processing power" - but keep the screen on.

I have number 2 selected. I notice when this kicks in, as scrolling text in Moving Pictures or TV Series gets really jerky and slow. As soon as I press a button it spends up.

I thought the default timeout was 10 minutes (but might be 5)

    Thanks,

    J.

Just a thought for de MP Devs:

Is it wise to set screensaver on by default? People who don't want it don't even look in that tab. I didn't. (Might be me being stupid ofcourse. It's statistically possible...)
Another way of looking at this: People who DO want the screensaver turned on, they check the settings and set it according to their whishes anyway. IMO

    Just a thought. :)
